Working in the world of art and education by constantly updating its education programs, Istanbul Fine Arts Academy creates projects and practices by researching different approaches and systems in fine arts education around the world.
It works with a qualified education staff, especially its founding staff.
IGSA; IT NEVER HAS BEEN IN THE STATUS OF A CLASSROOM.
Educational programs; The studies implemented as workshops and courses were considered in a short time towards the intended target. Workshops include meetings for widespread art and cultural development, open to the participation of anyone who wishes. It is a reflection of the master-apprentice tradition. Young people can prepare for other schools in the fields of fine arts. Those who are prepared for fine arts schools in our country or for fine arts schools abroad are governed in this context. They can prepare portfolios under the direction of masters. In a sense, they can do foundation/preparatory work.
IGSA APPROACHES THE INDIVIDUAL IN PURPOSE, DURATION AND CONSCIOUSNESS:
An individual interested in art should be in constant learning and experience.
This learning primarily conveys the responsibilities of the people involved in the arts disciplines and what they will encounter during practice, in other words, what kind of profession they actually want, with institutional experience and knowledge.
ESTABLISHMENT
Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts was founded in Göztepe, Istanbul by master architect Ömer Ferda Regular.
The views and disciplines of the institution were created with the contemporary education and culture concepts of the valuable art and thought people, painter Nurullah Berk and painter Sabri Berkel.
The Istanbul Academy of Fine Arts, aiming at non-formal art education for the first time in Turkey, was initially established to create an alternative educational environment to academies, as was the case with the André Lhote and Fernand Legér workshops in Paris.
Again in the foundation years, the sculptor Seyhun Topuz, the painter Tomur Atagök, the painter Gün İrk; sculptor Mehmet Şenel, painter Adnan Çoker, musician Timur Selçuk formed the cornerstones of this teaching.
DISCIPLINES
In the following years, Istanbul Fine Arts Academy examined the famous art school Bauhaus and created an education system that combined art disciplines with industry-related art disciplines with the master-apprentice tradition, and as a result, it trained designers with artisanal skills and meticulousness.
These disciplines are; mainly painting, interior architecture, fashion-stylistics and graphics; music, theatre, photography, computers, jewelry and jewelery design and art work with children. In a short time, it created a trained workforce in industrial fields, especially in textiles in Turkey.
